本丸御殿では、様々な装飾が鮮やかな色彩で再現されているのが魅力です。その装飾たちは、ただ美しいというだけではなく、徳川家の天下ならではの想いが込められています。そこで私は、装飾のモチーフになっている動物たちに着目しました。アプリケーションを使って本丸御殿に登場する動物を探しながら、本丸御殿の歴史的背景について理解を深めることができる企画です。

What is appealing in Honmaru Goten Palace is that various architectural ornaments reconstructed with brilliant colors. Those ornaments are not only beautiful but many of them are good luck charms, symbolizing Tokugawa family’s prayer for peace and tranquility over the country.

Focusing on mascot animals that appear in the ornamentations, I developed an app on which visitors can learn about historic backgrounds of Honmaru Goten Palace as they search for the mascot animals that can be found in the palace.
