KOKUIN PROJECT

I thought essential value of Nagoya Castle is in the fact that there were “obscure great men” who were involved in construction of the castle and worked without leaving their names on the history. So, I designed a scheme to sell climbing holds to visitors and to appropriate gained profit to expenses to repair the castle. When visitors purchase climbing holds, they tell us their native regions, and we will curve symbol marks of their native regions on the climbing holds and collect them. Then, we will build a climbing wall with those climbing holds with the symbol marks in Meijo Park. Hopefully, this experience would be opportunities for the visitors, who have purchased the climbing holds, to think of the obscure great men and the climbing wall would be a special place for them.
